Each Year 6, 9 and 10 student at Good Shepherd Lutheran College have this week been issued with a laptop, as part of the Federal Government initiated, Digital Literacy Laptop program at the College. Parents, along with their very enthusiastic students, attended an information session after which the students, looking very pleased with themselves, were issued their new possession.
Students are able to use their laptop both at home and in the classroom. Use of the computers will be integrated into each lesson of the school day, the extent, depending on the program of study being undertaken.
Good Shepherd Lutheran College Principal, Mr John Mason, is very excited about the flexibility the laptop program will afford students of the College. “We have to embrace technologies and programs that will better equip our students to become 21st century learners. Our staff has thrown themselves into the program wholeheartedly and is very enthusiastic about the possibilities this program opens up.”
