Transition Town Nambour's next meeting is Wednesday 21 July at the CWA Hall, Short Street Nambour at 7pm.

Tea and coffee will be available, gold coin donation.

This will be a joint meeting with Slow Food Sunshine Coast and feature guest speakers from the Sunshine Coast Regional Council covering "Rural Futures and Food Future and Council Policy".

Community Announcement from The Yandina Community Gardens

Don't forget to bring along some toppings for a pizza and join us for lunch and networking at the gardens after the workshop on July 17 around 12/12:30pm. Even if you are not attending the workshop, please feel free to join us for lunch. Either bring your own base if you wish, or we can supply a pizza base for a gold coin donation.

A free workshop on Seed Saving for Beginners is being held this Saturday morning, 17th July from 10.00 at the award-winning Yandina Community Gardens.

There are limited spaces available so bookings are essential by sending an email to info@yandinacommunitygardens.com.au You are invited to stay after the workshop for lunch around the cob oven and to tour the Gardens.

Elisabeth can also be emailed personally to book in on info@permacultureproduce.com.au.


FREE WORKSHOPS - YANDINA COMMUNITY GARDENS

Free workshops will be held at the Gardens from 10.00 am on every second Saturday for the next 12 months.

 ~

On Saturday 31st July learn about Growing from Seed with Rosina Buckman.

On 14th August find out about creating a system where chooks do your gardening for you with Chook Tractors.

On 28th August the workshop topic is Caring For Chooks in the Backyard.

The Yandina Community Gardens are open every Tuesday from 8.00 am to 2.00 pm and on Saturday mornings from 8.00 am to noon.

 ~

The Sunshine Coast Regional Council recently presented the Gardens with the ‘Edible Landscape’ Glossies Award, recognising the important role the Gardens play  as an education centre for the community to learn about sustainable living and producing healthy, organic food.

 ~
